The Government of Sindh intends to borrow the loan from ADB to rehabilitate rain / flood 2022 affected roads of Sindh Province which have been severely deteriorated and economical viable roads. ADB has agreed to provide US $ 200.0 (M) loan for the purpose.
During the field mission of ADB from 1st May 2023 to 15th May 2023, 47 Nos. rain / flood affected roads comprising of approx. 848.14 kms and 1 No. bridge were finalized.
With the approval of ADB, M/s Engineering Consultants International (Pvt.) Ltd; Karachi, has been assigned the tasks of Detailed Engineering Design (DED) & Construction Supervision (CS) of these roads.
As per the Topographic Survey by the consultants the total cumulative length of 857.67 kms is to be rehabilitated.
In addition to the Civil Work Component, the project will also include some consultancy services and equipment for Restoration and upgrading the established Road Asset Management System (RAMS) Unit at Works & Services Department, Sindh Secretariat, Karachi.
